Looking drawn and tired, Heather nodded at his words. "I know," she replied. "I just...I argued with him for a while, back and forth defending you and Ruby and myself, and it just got to me, I guess." She motioned to the side of her head. "Got all the way in here."
Heather believed in Sam's ability to stand up for himself against Ruby if she would ever try to get him to do something that was even more out of line than letting a demon voluntarily possess his own father. And really, she didn't think Ruby had any deep and dangerous ulterior motives for doing what she was doing. She'd explained herself to Heather in the past, more than once, and so far, everything seemed pretty legit. But it was still annoying and troublesome to have those doubts drilled into her head over and over by some asshole angel that Heather didn't even believe in all that much anyway.
