Heather hadn't stopped grinning all day long. Her cheeks wouldn't thank her for it, seeing as how they were pretty sore by now, and she probably looked like an idiot at the same time, but she really didn't care. She was shopping for her wedding dress. Whether it was embarrassing or uncool, it didn't matter. Heather was excited and elated and there was no way to stop any of it.
She was glad she had a small group of close friends with her to share the experience. That really made it more special, especially when they commented about a particular dress or told her how excited they were about the whole thing. The interaction through it all was something she hadn't expected to feel so great about, but there it was.
The only thing that Heather didn't quite like so much was how difficult it was to make any decisions. There were some dresses that she liked, but then a little detail or something threw it all off, and she couldn't bring herself to choose it. And then there were some that she liked but weren't the right color, or some that were just way too expensive. She wanted to look nice, she wanted to buy something that was special, but spending ten thousand dollars on one dress was just something she couldn't do. Especially since Jo had been hinting around at paying for it all day.
Currently, the group of women were crowded inside of a large dressing area, a few of Heather's previously dismissed choices hanging on a rack near the door. She still had a couple more to look through and try on, but before moving onto the next dress, she looked to the others. The saleswoman that had been helping her out the whole time was now trying to pawn off one of the dresses onto both Jo and Faith, who were probably going to respond more negatively than anyone else would have.
"I think just the one for today," Heather said to the woman, not bothering to stifle a laugh.
