"Whatever makes you more comfortable," Owen said. He had seen it all before, several times, and not only when dressing her body after both deaths. Of course, he wasn't about do say or do anything lecherous in this situation. It was awkward enough without him bantering around his usual tendencies.
The comment about him being a gentleman, however, provoked an eyebrow lift and disbelieving look. He was anything but a gentleman. He might have been a decent, quiet, thoughtful man at one point, but all of that had gone rather quickly out of the window after he lost Katie.
"I just figured it would be preferable to a hard metal slab...which isn't far from what the couch is, really," Owen said with a slight teasing smile.
