Re: later on;
The demon laughed through the attempt at exorcism, but the sound was all wrong, part agony, part satisfaction, as being tugged at over and over, almost but never quite pried out of this body, was a bitch to feel – but it was one the body felt as well. While Sam was left bleeding and in pain, the demon was left panting in John's body, more of the telltale ridges appearing, splitting the fragile human skin to make room. And then knowing eyed locked on Dean Winchester.
"Pay? Are you gonna make me pay, Dean?" The demon chuckled, shifting with a rattle of chains, the body he was in tired from attempt after attempt, but still strong. So was the consciousness inside, but the demon was having too much fun with these humans to give the matter the weight it deserved.
"Remember what it was like, Dean, to make people pay? You do, I can see how much you do. You and John both."
And there was still fun to be had inside the older Winchester son's head. Must be a special breed of demon these people knew, but the demon inside John still knew it was better than whatever demons they knew. He just needed to draw one of them close enough to the ring of salt, disrupt it, and then he could start tossing them around left and right, stick those crosses in some fun places even..
"You're never getting me out of this body, not without killing your daddy," he said, the grinned, wide and eerie, John but not in any way that was John. "Every time you do it, you hurt him, more and more. He'll die soon and it'll just be me in here, keeping this body going. Like the demon slut over there."
The demon turned to where Ruby was, trying not to draw attention exactly, but getting the demon's attention anyhow. "Don't think I haven't seen inside your head, Ruby. Me and John both. Full color, full sound," the demon tsked disapprovingly, "such a bad girl. But bad Sammy too. Guess you both know something about how nice a new body can be. How much the one inside doesn't want to leave and how much those around can like it."
And then the voice changed, no longer John's with the demonic echo to it, but clear and obviously Ruby's as the demon fixed its gaze on Sam. "Because it's nice inside this body, Sam." The demon shifted, closing its eyes. "Soft and warm."
He didn't need eyes to know this was making an impact with everyone, including the one sharing this body. These people were some of the most screwed up humans he'd ever come across, collectively.
"Isn't it 'cause you're really scared to go there with a demon," the demon all but purred, still in that voice that was clearly Ruby's, but even more incongruous in that face that was both John's and the demon's, ridges and split skin and all, "because it's wrong, and it's bad, and we shouldn't."
