Re: later on;
It felt wrong, to stand there and let this happen. Dean wanted to grab one of the anti-possession necklaces and put it on his father's neck. You were supposed to try to avoid this stuff, not try to call it to you. He listened as the thing possessing his father began spouting horrible half truths. Who the hell did he think he was? To tell Sammy that he wasn't good enough, that he didn't fit in? Dean didn't dare think about the other thing the demon had said, about the reason his Dad had really agreed to be possessed, about him and his Dad being monsters. While Dean could never think anything less than nice things about his father, he was less certain that the Demon didn't have a point about him. He had tortured souls in hell...certainly that didn't make him the best person in the world.
He watched as Sammy tried again, biting his bottom lip hard to keep from intervening, because he wasn't sure if Sam's demon powers were a good thing, wasn't sure even now if they were something that they should be messing with. Come on, Come on... he thought, hoping beyond hope that this would work, that Sam would get rid of the demon and they could all just go home.
But it didn't work. Sam was bleeding again, though the fact he was well enough to take his frustrations out on the chair told Dean that he would live. Even when he slumped to the ground he was swearing, and therefor alive, which was good, but the situation was still not to Dean's liking at all. "Sammy!" he hissed, going over to his brother with a worried look on his face, "You ok?"
Waiting on his brother's answer, Dean cast an anxious look toward the thing that was possessing his father. He had to believe that John was still in there somewhere, that they were going to get him back and everything was going to work out. Dean had seen far too many possession victims that had been run too ragged by the demons to survive. Often, the demonic force possessing the body was the only thing keeping it alive, and when it was gone the body was dead. Dean wouldn't, COULDN'T let that happen. He had promised his mom that they would all come out of this in one piece, and he meant to keep it.
"You're going to pay for that, you miserable bastard." He knew that the demon had little to do with Sammy's bleeding nose and throbbing head, but his fierce brotherly anger was still there, because he didn't like anything hurting Sam.
