Heather had stopped trying to convince Sam not to go through with this exorcism only a short while ago. She still held out hope, right up until they'd actually pulled up together in front of the warehouse, that he would change his mind on his own. That he would realize the practice wasn't worth putting his own father in that kind of situation, and that he and Ruby would just have to work something else out to prepare him for Lilith. It never happened, though.
At first, it had only been because of God and the angels that she didn't want him to go through with it. She was afraid they would see it as him falling, going too far to be saved, and cause some kind of harm to him. But now, she wasn't too worried about that. It didn't seem like that was a major interest of the holy ones all that much anymore. But Heather wasn't stupid. She could see the concern and worry written all over Sam's face, especially once the time had been drawing closer to have to actually do it. He wasn't comfortable with this. How could he be? And now, that was what Heather worried about the most. He was doing something he truly didn't want to do, something that involved the safety of his family, and Heather knew all too well how difficult it was for him to push past those feelings to get the exorcism done. She just couldn't wait until it was over.
Sam had lingered outside the warehouse, getting some air and clearing his head a little. Heather wanted to stay behind with him and make sure he was okay, but every part of her knew that he wasn't. She figured for now, it would be best to leave him alone, let him do it on his own terms. And so she gave his hand a squeeze before entering the large building, finding everyone else already there.
Ruby looked annoyed. John and Dean appeared to be more worried than they were trying to let on. Anya was busy summoning, and Faith seemed pretty ready to kick some ass.
Heather had caught Ruby's last sentence as she approached the people that had gathered there. Crossing her arms over her chest and leaning against a nearby wall, she nodded off towards the door. "He's outside. Give him a few minutes first." It was obvious she was there to watch over Sam like a mother bear. It had nothing to do with trusting anyone, even Ruby, but everything to do with wanting to make sure the man she loved was alright as he went through with this.
And then the door opened, Sam entering the building as well and completing the group. Heather's expression immediately softened, her arms falling to her sides, giving her a more approachable look. She didn't say anything to him the way she wanted to, not with the others around, but she took the necklace and placed it over her head, straightening it out a bit.
