With the snow outside, it was only a matter of time before it ended up in someone's face or down their shirt or one of many other acts, so the called out 'heads up' was enough to get Sarah to raise her arm over her face to keep away the splatter of the first deluge.
But she didn't exactly need the snow on the ground to fight back. Crystal glittered and then morphed and she quickly passed the first snowball to Toby before making and hurling the next at Peter, just as a snowball from the other direction smacked her straight in the face. Spluttering, though laughing as well, she swiped at her face to clear her vision and hurled another snowball.
Nathan just behind them, he was afforded a temporary block by Sarah and Toby, which he shamelessly used to his advantage as he moved around them, leaving the direct line of fire and immediate battleground.
"At this rate, we're never leaving," he announced after ducking down and a making a snowball, throwing it at his sons before he made his way toward Heidi.
