"If it got rid of Lilith? Yeah. I think you would. No offense." He wasn't going to lie. Sam knew what Ruby had been in it for from the beginning. She might have developed a taste for the Winchesters over time, but he wasn't so sure that she would be willing to choose between him and Lilith's downfall if it came down to it. He trusted her, sure, but not at the expense of his entire life. "It doesn't matter anyway. Because if I have to die to kill her, then I will. But I'd rather live to see the next day, as I promised a girl I'd marry her."
He gripped at the table a bit more tightly and closed his eyes. "I want to do good," Sam said quietly, "but I can do that without these abilities, Ruby. I don't need this curse to save lives." He was going to get rid of the blood in him. He was going to fix it. Sam Winchester was no longer going to be a freak.
Straightening up, Sam shot her an irritated look. "I know he's strong and I know that he's aware of what he's getting himself into. Just like I know that it'll be my fault if he fucking dies because I can't control this --" He pointed to his chest. "-- this whatever the fuck it is that Azazel shoved down my throat. And I honestly don't want to. I can pretend that I do in front of everyone else, but it's like I keep saying Ruby. When this is all over, I'm finished. I'm gonna find a cure and I won't have to take anymore risks that involve my family members playing puppets for any demons out there."
