Hot Chocolate, while nice did not make Ruby warm or happy, not the mood she was in at any rate, already worried about the fight ahead, about Sam, about Castiel, and yes, very much about her own life, Ruby was not about to be placated by a hot drink. She continued to stir it and sat down at the table looking up at Sam.
"Then lets go through them one by one." she said, her voice more than a little clipped "Your father isn't stupid. He knows what needs to be done here apparantly more than you do. This world doesn't have demons you can just pull. Well aside from me and I'd prefer not to be target practice. It has this Ethros. Ive taken precautions, Anya has the box that will eventually hold this thing. And between us we know what we're doing."
She shook her head.
"Remember when you wanted to listen to me, I'd thought of something, Dean bitched, you thought it was a good idea but you listened to him and people died. This isnt a dig at Dean, but there are more people here for you to take advice from. But there are other factors too. Angels, god. Uriel's out to get me, he's not hiding it, so hes poisoning people against me, and I dont know if he knows or cares how much his picking on insecurities is playing into Liith's hands. You said you trusted me Sam. Now you gotta proove it"
Heather better not be the weak link, she thought momentarily, the one that Uriel's pushing hardest, the one with the easiest insecurities to crack. That would become a problem later if it were true. She really hoped it wouldn't.
"You gotta start listening to me sometimes Sam. Like you used...like you did in my time, and no not for the same reasons, that wasnt the only thing that made you trust me"
