As soon as Uriel opened his mouth, telling her he was trying to help, Heather scoffed and shook her head. "This isn't helping. This? This is making things worse. You're trying to get me pissed at Ruby, but all you're doing is making me pissed at you. And me being pissed at you isn't gonna make me want to side with you on anything."
It was only a partial truth, though. Yes, she was angry that Uriel was shoving all of this Sam and Ruby stuff down her throat, but she had always been sensitive to the subject, and Ruby liked to bring it up a lot on her own.
Heather had grabbed onto Sam's hand a few moments ago, when he'd first pulled her away from Uriel, and she could feel him tensing as the angel continued. In response, she gave his hand a squeeze, though her eyes were fixated coldly on Uriel's face. However, in making direct eye contact, there was no way she could hide the fact that he'd made an impact.
"It isn't happening," she stated firmly, or as firmly as she could when the truth was hidden by a thin lie.
