The angel turned on her, glaring. "Watch your mouth, mud monkey. Before I turn you int --"
"-- you wouldn't get the chance," Sam cut in from behind him. He looked far from pleased. If this guy wanted to give him a hard time, fine, but to go around messing with Heather, no less in front of him, was a bad idea on Uriel's part. But maybe that was what he was trying to do. Use Heather for something. Maybe the other way around. After all, why would he have shown them that if it didn't have anything to do with one or the other?
"It's amusing that you actually believe that," was the response. Uriel eyed Heather for a moment before holding his hands up and shaking his head. "But I'm not here to destroy either of you, you're right. We'll save that for another time." He looked at Heather once more. "Did you not see what she did in there? Did you not notice how manipulative she was? Sam, wouldn't you agree that you'd never, under any circumstance, have sexual affairs with a demon?"
Sam muttered something incoherent, sounding a whole hell of a lot like an insult toward Uriel than a response to his question. The angel continued speaking anyway.
"Ruby wants Sam. She wants to turn him into her little anti-christ superstar. She may deny it, but it's the truth. She wants him. She wants power. That's why every corner of hell knows who she is. Cross anyone down there and they'll tell you the same tale. She's a traitor. And it's not because she wants to do the right thing. It's because she always does what's necessary to get what she wants. Whoring herself around with humans? It's only the beginning." Uriel stepped past Heather and toward Sam again.
"Soon. She'll ask you to do something that will make you question your morality. And that will be the line. The one that determines whether or not you're going to become a bigger problem than you already are upstairs. Will you give her the chance?" He turned to Heather, brows rising. "Will you?"
