Remy saw the look on her face when she talked about home, and he recognized it well. He knew what it felt like to not want to return - except that her words about her friends (or was it family?) withholding important information from her ended up stinging him in a different way altogether. After all, lately it was him that had been keeping information from those close to him - including even now, considering he was not being entirely honest with his roommate, Psylocke. Suddenly, Gambit had a moment of remembering what kind of person he truly might be, and he no longer felt 100% sure that deserved to be this girl's protector tonight.
"You know, I'm not exactly de best when it comes to openness and honesty m'self. Maybe you'd be better off..." He stopped himself. He didn't feel right just leaving a girl alone in a dark city, especially one that had just been the victim of an attack. But she had just said she didn't know where she was going. Gambit sighed. He supposed there was only one thing he possibly could ask her next. "I must be crazy," he thought to himself.
"OK," he said, "I'll bite. You ain't going home, but you wanna go help de moon. Well, how exactly you planning to do dat? And...do you need any help?"
