Gambit accepted the stake and gave her a little thankful bow, flashing his devilish grin in the process. Just because they were up against a blood-thirsty monster didn't mean it was any time to turn off the charm. Remy turned his attention back to the vamp, wondering if the fiend would chose to attack again, or perhaps learn his lesson and simply run off and call it a night. He didn't have to wonder long, as the man came charging at the two of them, already back to full speed despite the force of Gambit's kinetic energy.
Still, it was easy enough for Remy to avoid the man - you don't spend years fighting super-villains and not learn some moves, after all. The now obviously irate and frustrated vamp spun back around and lunged at Remy again, and this time Gambit was able to lift the stake up and aim it at the man's chest...exactly where it came to rest as the vamp inadvertently slammed itself straight into it. Gambit knew hitting the actual heart was always a lot tougher than it looked in the movies, but this time he seemed to have done the trick, as the man vanished into a cloud of dust before his eyes.
