"Not by choice. I was debating between Yale and Cornell, but I'm here..and I can't get out of the city, so my options are limited." it wasn't like LA had a Ivy League school for her to apply to, so she just went for the local University to take courses in until she could get back home. "We can get you into school." she said reassuringly. She knew what he was feeling, May had though the same thing when she arrived when she was sixteen and needed to get back into classes. "There's a man here named Nathan. He can get you set up for a good school. But we should get you a false name." she said, thinking through her options. She'd say it was just for safety, but May didn't know if Ben knew they were fictional in this world, so she wouldn't break that news yet if she didn't have to.
"Don't worry about the Space-time continuum here. This place is warped, and it's already been ripped a thousand times over here. You get to go home when the Higher Powers are done with you, and not before. The rules are different here." she'd been worried that her parents knowing about her would screw things over, but when she went home for two years, things were fine.
May lead the way to the stairs, motioning him for him to go up them. She wanted to dump her stuff off in her room. "Sort of. Technically, yes, it's why i'm allowed to stay here, but mostly I just go off on my own. They don't usually ask me to do much." because their methods weren't always something May could agree with, and her expertise weren't really with demons, though she was learning.
