Strange indeed. Reds were often known as the stubborn types, the ones who were hard to get along with. But Alyssa seemed to click with him somehow. Hell otherwise you'd find him anywhere BUT the kitchen at this moment. He had loads of video games to be playing, and yet instead he was finishing up in the kitchen. ( likely without Lana's knowledge less he face her wrath at the mere idea.) He wasn't that stupid though. Some things were better left unsaid. Like him cooking. Especially if Bart caught wind of that. He was cooking to impress a girl? He'd never hear the end of it. There would be taunting and likely teasing. It wasn't something Jack could deal with at the moment.
Unlike the other rangers though, he'd never actually celebrated holidays until this year. But this place sucked even harder than home. The holidays seemed a little better though. So that made him okay with it. The commercial part didn't exactly thrill him, but that wasn't really what it was all about here. Here it just seemed different. Better somehow, and he didn't even feel that guilty about celebrating it. Now he was taking Buffy's advice and just relaxing..taking some down time. Separating eggs into a bowl. That didn't go well. "Aw hell." He reached in reluctantly and plucked at the shells with his nails going momentarily shifty eyed. "...They're supposed to be in there." He glared at the mi, oh yeah. Threatening mix was going to make it all better.
