Mary was prepared for that look. She had been with John for over ten years before her death, and though she didn't often try to coax something out of him that she knew he didn't want to do, when she did, she could be pretty effective at it.
"It's the first Christmas with us all together, and Ben would get a kick out of it." She said, keeping reason clear in her voice even though the mischief was clear in her eyes. She held up a single finger to silence further discussion for a moment, and reached under the bed, pulling out a smaller similarly wrapped package. "I have it on good authority that Santa gets the first gift of the season." Inside that box, he would find a small cluster of mistletoe tied in a neat, red bow.
