Heather knew bits and pieces of the Bible, the stories and all that, but it wasn't something she grew up around. Her Dad had known what went on back in Silent Hill, and because of that, he hadn't ended up being the most religious man in the world, either. He told her about God, the good one that helped and protected, and she'd prayed before bed at night, but that was back when she was little, before she had her own experience in Silent Hill. It was before God had been the cause of so much pain and death. Maybe not the same God as the one she was walking with now, but that lack of believing in the good side of religion was still there.
"I guess that makes sense." But really, it didn't.
Heather swallowed hard and glanced around, wondering if anyone would overhear the conversation. She was sure it would sound crazy if that was the case. "Then what am I supposed to do?" she asked, almost demanding. "I can't do anything about Ruby, and I can't stop him from training with her. I've tried that, and he went behind my back and kept at it, anyway. And now...it seems like the only way to stop Lilith. Is it? If not, just say so and I'm sure someone will jump at the thought."
