Heather stood when 'Hannah' did, closing her fingers around her hand as they began walking. She didn't know why she was even doing this. It was ridiculous. Didn't God have anything better to do than take a walk with someone who had such a skewed perception of such things? Apparently not.
"I'm not afraid," she replied with a shake of her head. "I guess you already know what I think of you, too. Or...what I was kind of forced to think of you, and then it just stuck." Why was she explaining this, either? "But I'll tell you what, this kind of thing, the plagues and all that? It isn't helping your case."
Back-talking God probably wasn't a smart idea, but Heather wasn't being disrespectful exactly. Just blunt.
