Peter frowned at the mention of the sedatives, even though it was clear that Niki had been sedated. It was a touchy subject for him, and he knew that the drugs wouldn't inhibit her strength, only her ability to think clearly. Whatever little ability of that might remain.
"No," Peter confirmed. "She wouldn't." He let out a breath, rubbing at his forehead. "She has an eleven year old son. Niki wouldn't do anything that would endanger him, or endanger her being with him."
He hesitated. "What if it's not a psychotic break? I mean, I know it looks that way. But isn't there a differential? There has to be another cause."
