Peter's blood ran cold when he heard the name. Niki. He shut his eyes, and tried to reach out to her. An instant later, he flinched, withdrawing. Something was wrong. Her mind had never felt like that, not even when the struggle between Niki and Jessica had been at its worst.
"Yes," he said. "I do." A few standard questions that Peter was forcing himself to answer calmly, giving some information to acknowledge that yes, he did know Nicole Sanders, her general discription, and the address on her identification.
Psychotic break was the term they used. Peter nearly laughed. A psychotic break from Niki Sanders involved the breaking of bones, and focused around the name Jessica. This was something else.
"I'll come and pick her up," he said, once the doctor had explained. "She'll be okay with me."
The doctor hesitated. "We suspect she might be under the influence of PCP, Mr. Petrelli. She's displaying some incredible--"
"Niki doesn't take drugs," Peter replied. "If that's your suspicion, then she was drugged. Unwillingly. But I'll be there to pick her up soon. She's strong, and she knows how to defend herself, so it she is hallucinating, keep away from her."
