Niki smiled, inwardly pleased at their reactions. There had been a time when she hadn't ever expected to be around children again and now she found she liked having all four of them with her.
"Good," her smile brightened as she started the coffee maker and found some OJ for the kids.
"Because I love having you kids here, I just wanted to make sure you knew it's your choice."
She wandered back over to pet Oy who was just adorable. Unusual, but what wasn't in this city.
"I'll start looking for a bigger place this afternoon. Money's pretty good so I'm sure I can afford it."
Besides, an apartment this size was no place for any kind of family. It was an unconventional one sure, but she loved it anyway.
"Micah, Molly, breakfast," she called out in a louder tone, stepping away from Oy for a moment.
