Jo and Ruby. Playing friggin Mario Cart. Why, oh why, did Sam get the feeling that this really wasn't going to end well? He hadn't been on his feet much lately, but after Ruby had started hanging around the house he felt the need to do whatever it took to make himself look a little less pathetic. Being able walk was one of those things. It had taken a little effort on his part, but he was getting better at the whole getting around thing. And if anyone said anything to him about his pace or tried to give him any sympathy looks? He grumbled. A lot.
He had been off looking for a book to sort through some research on when he heard the excitement from the next room. And that was when he stumbled in on the scene. The ridiculous scene.
He probably should have walked away. For one thing, it was a video game. One that demons should not be allowed to play. Secondly, there was alcohol. And he knew, better than anyone, that it was a damn good idea for him to stay away from that in particular. But the amusement toward the entire scene was just too much for him to avoid. He edged his way into the room and flopped down at the end of the couch.
"Driving straight helps," Sam commented, looking to the pair. "Just saying."
