LA did not have the necessities for a log cabin in the snow covered woods. There were few wooded areas and even less snow. For hells sake it was still rather warm, given the time of year. All these hurdles meant little to her as she set out to make the lavish home, that was decidedly Selene, just a little more Logan at heart.
During the daylight hours she was very much an everyday woman. There was little to do in the way of hunting Lycan at night. Selene was well and truly without much of anything to do. After so many years of having no time for herself to speak of, this would take some getting use to.
Rolled up in the trunk was the first purchase of the day. A rug. While it was not bear skin the replica was authentic in texture and warmth. A deep rich brown, that felt like silk to touch. There were several bags stuffed with throw pillows, blankets and beautiful drapes. Little trinkets to make it feel more like a home. A multitude of candles and well crafted holders for them. She did love the glow of candle light. A large, empty picture frame, for something special.
“Perhaps a truck would be a smart purchase.” She mumbled as she stuffed the last item in the back and closed the hatch. There was one last, simple item she was in need of. They did not have a fireplace. While she could not have one easily installed, she had found a way to fake it. Sort of.
Standing in the electronics store she held the disk in her hand, eyeing it warily. “It is the thought that counts, right?” She questioned the cashier as she stepped up and took her turn to pay. If she could not have a fire place built, she would turn the television into what she needed.
The cashier smirked and nodded. ”How would Santa get in without a fireplace?”
With the DVD dangling from her hand in a bright yellow bag Selene left the store, flowing with the hordes of people that swarmed the mall.
