"They'll have shut down the elevators--" Bela said, ironically just as the elevator doors dinged. It honestly caught her off guard and the look on her face read as true surprise. Reinforcements had arrived faster than even she'd expected and not in their usual mode. Her head whipped around to stare at the doors opening, watching as armed men and what appeared to be a few vampires poured through the doors.
It appeared Lilah hadn't told all of the guards about the plan, which was all good for appearance (the shocked looks and shouts of her name were quite the nice touch, really), but it made Bela wonder if this was going to be harder than she'd thought. "Shit," she aloud, reaching for another gun. The word was honest and more than a little panicked. "This isn't good."
She aimed for the men without bumps and ridges, knowing her bullets would do nothing against those who had them. "Stairs!" she ordered. "Stairs, they'll be waiting to cut us off, but we have to go!"
