Henry Townshend wasn't big on alcohol by any means, but after some of the things he had gone through lately he felt like he really needed a drink.
He ordered a gin and tonic, mostly because he could remember what it was called, and sat at the bar sipping it carefully. Maybe a little alcohol would take the edge off his memories of being tormented by a vampire, or that... other person.
The place was full of people, but Henry decided to try to find a table anyway, rather than just sit here at the bar. He found himself at the back, near a good-looking woman with dark hair. If he weren't so shy, he might have tried to talk to her. But he did find the nerve to give her a smile at least, or perhaps the alcohol helped.
