Alyssa wasn't about to tell him how he should be feeling. Because, a) she didn't know and b) he could feel however he wanted to feel. If he wanted to talk, she'd listen. No strings attached.
"It's a rule when making a pie, Jack," Alyssa sighed, totally teasing. "Everyone has to help or they won't get any pie once it's done." Her laughter probably clued him in on the joke.
