"You can't let that get you down," Xander told her sternly. "Thing's are gonna change. That's the way life is. Remember how much it sucked when we graduated from high school? You and Willow were off doing the college thing while I was suck in my parents basement with a string of useless jobs under my belt."
Xander shrugged and shoved his hands into his pockets. "But it all got less pathetic as time went on. I started doing the construction thing, got the hell away from my parents..." He waved a hand in the air at that. "And now I'm back at square one. Mooching offa bunch of hero types for room and board and all that jazz while my broke ass eats all of their food. I'm guessing that this would usually be the part where I start doing something important with myself. So I'm just waiting to seize the moment. And stuff."
