Despite not being fully awake, Sarah snickered at that claim. "Now I've got this image of paint chips all in a row going 'Sir, yes, Mr. Bennet, sir!'" That bit of fancy stuck for the moment, she blew on the coffee with intent, fingers closing around the cup in brief concentration. Even though fire-based changes had been easier to master than ice ones so far, while it wasn't her best work and she was still learning, at least it wasn't going to scald her mouth and make anyone feel bad.
Drinking a healthy swallow down, she gave Claire a thumbs up as the coffee hit. Oh, that did have a kick to it. She heartily approved. Muttering happily about amazing people and their amazing coffee, she plopped back down on the daybed and nudged the laptop over to make room for Claire.
"And yes to everything. I do adore him right back, as evidenced by what's on the agenda today," she said with a grin, drawing one knee up to rest the cup on a terry cloth robe covered knee, "and everyone was perfect and wonderful little angels who did not drink or flirt and dance with cute boys and we observed all laws the other night."
Glancing to the laptop as she drank more coffee – good, very good and why had the older Claire not made this more often?! – she considered her list. "How do you feel about being a hairdresser for the morning? No one's doing anything really complicated, there will be one professional here to make sure everyone's hair is done – including yours, of course – but extra hands would be good-"
She was interrupted by a quack from the other room, the source of said quack appearing in the doorway, a brilliantly feathered Mandarin duck who was shadowed by a clearly disgruntled long-haired cat who was apparently no more of a morning feline that her human.
"Good morning to you too and I'm sorry I didn't wait for you, I needed coffee." Another quack and Sarah smiled. "Daddy's gone for the morning because he's not supposed to see me yet, but he'll be back later," she said to the duck as if it was the most natural thing in the world to be carrying on a conversation, but when she turned to Claire, her amusement was clear.
