pre-dinner!
Due to the relative sleeplessness she had been struggling with in recent weeks, blamed entirely on having too many things to do in order to sleep all night, every night, or even rest unless Peter coaxed her to do it, Sarah was already underway with the cooking when the first person joined her early that morning. This Thanksgiving was something she had been looking forward to in a way she had never really done with the holiday, because her family was all here to celebrate it. There were no last-minute casting calls or downed flights or people just too busy – everyone she cared about, both family and friends, would all be here. Granted, it was likely a recipe for at least some sort of issue at some point today, but it was enough that everyone would still be here.
"Morning," she greeted, smartly saluting with the spatula she had just pulled from the drawer. She pushed away from the counter and reached for one of the stack of aprons she had left near her, holding it out. "Ready to be put to work?"
