Jacen listened to Allana considerately, filing away what she was saying for future reference. If Amelia did grow up to be a wise, considerate adult...his train of thought was scuttled, unfortunately, when he realized something else, an inconvenient fact that Allana seemed to be ignoring.
"But you're not pregnant." Jacen paused, then re-ordered his thoughts. "What I mean to say is that you are indeed the adult version of the teenager we have encountered. But unlike you, she is pregnant right now. And from what Jag has said, you most certainly never had that happen to you. What if time spent here in this city has actually altered everything, and she will never grow up to become you?"
The old worry was back, and with a vengeance. He could only hope that Allana could provide some sort of solution for what had become the latest family dilemma. Even if Ben had grown-up to become some sort of moderating influence on his daughter, Jacen doubted even he could handle a pregnant teenager.
