Lana was just sliding on her blazer to head to Isis when the call came in. There was no question which guard it was, as most of them still referred to her as Miss Lang. Though she considered for a split second the possibility that it could be one of the many Clark impostors, it was obvious from the fact that he didn't speed past security that this was the real deal.
"He can wait there, Reginald. I'm about to head out."
Her heels clicked as she made her way toward the entrance. It was good that Clark was paying her a visit, even if his timing was a little off. As Christmas drew closer, things got harder for her. It was good to have someone familiar there, even if he wasn't the same one she left behind.
As she met him, she gave him a warm, genuine smile, though she knew he would be able to detect that very subtle sadness in her eyes that was always threatening to overwhelm her. "Good morning, Clark. Usually I ride to work, but since you're here, I think walking might be a nice break from the usual routine."
