WHO: Cordelia Chase and Kathy McAvera WHAT: Bringing Kathy home at last. WHEN: Late afternoon WHERE: Hyperion Hotel RATING: TBD STATUS: In Progress
Nathan Petrelli, as far as Cordelia was concerned, was the smartest man on the planet. Period. Not only had he managed to get the courts to come back with a verdict in their favor, he'd also gotten Immigration to offer a formal apology for having wasted their times with what was clearly nothing more than a 'paperwork blunder'. So, in short, Kathy was once again in her care and she was willing to bet nothing short of the President himself would convince Immigration to step foot back inside the Hyperion Hotel again.
Truth be told, it had been a wonderful (if long, and tiring) day spent at the courthouse and as soon as Cordelia had been given permission to leave she'd taken Kathy and gotten out of there as fast as she could manage.
The smile on her face was impossible to miss as she all but skipped to her car, the small girl's hand held securely within her own. "So your room is still the same as it was when you left," she assured her as she searched the parking lot for her Jaguar. "And you need to start thinking about dinner tonight because whatever you want to eat, that's what we're having." Finally spotting the car, she unlocked the passenger door and opened it, gesturing for Kathy to climb inside. Shutting the door behind her, Cordelia stayed there for a moment and peered up toward the sky.
"Thank you," she whispered, her vision blurred by tears for a second before she blinked them away and made her way to the other side of the car. Today, she decided as she slid inside, was the best day she'd had in a very long time.
