Who: Sam and John Winchester. What: Time for a talk. When: Morning. Where:Outside. Rating: TBD.
Sam had tried to be patient. He really had. But there was only but so much that this particular Winchester was capable of, particularly with the way that he had been feeling lately. He was so confused. Good things had started to happen, but then the bad came along and made it all dark and scary. Sam had his family back. Maybe not the way that he had expected for it to be, but it was still whole and it could always be worked on. Maybe Dean and his Dad didn't understand that. Sam did.
There was a point in his life where he had lost everything. First his mother, then his girlfriend, soon followed by Dad and even Dean himself. He had been alone. And he had felt nothing. Sam became a hollowed shell, walking around with nothing but the desire for revenge. He became obsessed with it. Angry, dark, miserable. How he even managed to go with it for as long as he did, he would never know.
That had changed. Everyone was here with him now. Everything that he cared about, all tucked away under one roof. That was fine by him. It was all that he wanted.
However, Sam did NOT want to see them all stuck and miserable. And he got the feeling that they all were. Because of me, he thought gloomily, because Lilith wants me dead and Azazel...God only knows what he wants. They would all suffer because of him.
At least they would if he didn't do something about it. And Sam? He was going to do something. In fact, he already was. He was preparing himself. Working hard. And with each and every session he endured with Ruby, Sam felt something grow stronger inside of him. Something dark and powerful. It scared him, sure enough, but maybe that was how it was supposed to be; maybe that was how it was meant to be. Would he ever really know? There was so much that he didn't.
Starting with his parents. There was something there that he couldn't quite figure. They were hiding something from him. Sam fully intended on finding out just as to what that particular what was. That was why he was here, standing outside the apartment complex that they lived in, waiting for his Dad to show so that they could finally have that overdue discussion that he'd been trying to pry from his Dad for what felt like forever. It was time he learned the truth. Sam only hoped that his Dad would be able to give it to him.
