Jaina studied her for a moment with a contemplative sort of expression on her face. She was trying her very best not to pass judgement, was trying to think about how her uncle might handle something like this, or her mother. Trying to understand the woman's point of view, or at least keep from condemning her simply due to one... slip.
The problem was, when it came to the Dark Side, there was no such thing as just the once. Jaina viewed it as little more than a disease. Once it invaded your body and bypassed your defenses, there was virtually no stopping it.
Still, Bastila had sought her out and that alone spoke volumes. Had she fully fallen to the Dark Side, she wouldn't have bothered with such frivolities.
"Okay," Jaina finally exhaled and wriggled around in her seat in an effort to find a more comfortable position. "Well, I'd be surprised if you didn't like it, first of all." That statement surprised even her, yet she went with it and continued what she was saying.
"From the way I understand it, the Dark Side is seductive. If it came across as terrible, I don't think many Jedi would fall to it." Okay, maybe it did make a bit of sense, in a convoluted sort of way.
Clearing her throat, the young woman looked down at her coffee cup and added quietly, "And I don't know of a single Jedi who hasn't at least felt a... draw toward it, at one point in time or another."
Re-collecting herself, she raised her attention back to Bastila. "The question is, how can you stop yourself from doing it again? If you can't... we have a galactic-sized problem on our hands."
