Julian’s musical voice whispered into her ear before he appeared beside her. As always, the not so-dark Shadow Man watched her from the shadows to ensure nobody hurt his precious human lover. He had held her in her sleep to appease her tormented fear over the impression of this ghost. This haunt who dared to show her the darker side of human kind to her who always looked for goodness in everything.
He was no devoid of sympathy unlike his monstrous brethren, but Julian wasn’t even touched by the murder. He had seen enough human cruelty through the ages to be desensitized. Kindness, on the other hand, kindness was what he surprised to find -- Jenny’s light.
“Do you see why he must move on -- he, his mother and the cat don’t have peace in this world.”
That was as a sympathetic offer he could formulate. It was the solution for everybody pain. Wasting away in rage wouldn’t alleviate the pain. It would make it last forever.
