Cathy had been handling the state of things decently, if she didn't say so herself. By that, she meant that she hadn't yet cried or gotten too emotional otherwise, despite the ever-present inclination to do just that. The nerves were still in a constant state of Limbo, of course, but that would be until she had Lindsey safe in her arms once again. That much, she could handle, if the final outcome was a good one...which, it would be. It had to be.
Since distracting herself seemed to be the best option for Cathy's sanity, she settled down with a book, reading the same passage for roughly the thirty-second-and-a-half time when the knock came at the door. It was a welcome break, regardless of the fact that she was expecting company. With no hesitation upon seeing that her visitor was Faith, she pulled open the door.
"Hey!" she greeted, putting as much energy into her tone and smile as she could muster. Despite recent events, she really was happy to see Faith and would never wish for her to think otherwise. A flicker of sympathy appeared on her face as she took in the fading bruises, and even that much was masking the internal cringe. She stepped back to allow the Slayer access to her room. "Come in. It's so good to see you. And that." Nodding to the bourbon, of course.
