"Yeah, they can be a problem here, but then some of them are pretty useful." She said this with a slight smile on her face.
She was also pretty relieved when he told her that she was welcomed here. Even though she knew that he had a darker side, she was just happy about the fact that he had yet to unleash it upon her, but if he ever did she would be ready. For awhile she could tell that LaCroix was looking at her, almost as if he were studying her. Before Alessa could say anything though he was already asking her for her thoughts.
Placing the heels of her feet on the chair, Alessa wrapped her arms around her legs, and rested her head against her knees. She did it in such a way that only the upper half of her head was showing. She thought long and hard for a moment. She lifted up her head, and sighed, "It's a lot of things, but I guess right now it has to do something with my mother being here."
Alessa knew that deep deep down inside that she still loved the woman that burned her alive. Her chest tightened when she thought about all the times that she just wanted the love and approval of her mother. It only seemed to happen though when she displayed a power. Her mind soon drifted to a memory of the time that she first killed someone, an innocent little boy, just with her thoughts. Of course when her mother found out she was very happy for her daughter, even going as far as to get Alessa a present.
And even though Alessa knew that killing was wrong, she couldn't help but to smile on that day, because her mom showed her approval. Of course, when Dahlia told Alessa to kill another person, and Alessa refused, her mother beat her. Then she had drug her up into the attic with all of the scary graffiti, and locked Alessa inside of that room. The young girl had spent that time crying, and praying to one of the Gods.
"I'm sorry, it's just...despite everything that she's done to me, a very small part of me still loves her."
