"Family's important." she said with a bit of a smile. She'd die for hers, and if she could help another one, then all the better. Reaching into her robes, she produced the chain, holding it up, and letting it dangle before her. "I just need to set it to leave, and then when to come back. How long do you want to stay?" she asked, holding up her wand to it.
"When it leaves, you all have to be holding on to it. One finger is enough." she said, eyes glancing to Sam, half wondering if he already knew this through the books. "It works just like a Portkey from my world, only it dimension hops. You must keep an eye on the time. Once I set it, it will leave when it's supposed to, and everyone has to be touching the chain again to come back. You can't be holding onto someone who's touching it, you'll be left behind. Keep it close to you, don't lose it."
She waited, wand ready, for them to tell her how much time they wanted. In her opinion, this was a genius invention. She could only imagine what it would do back in her world. And it was a shame it didn't work trying to get back to their world. She'd already tried, and it hadn't done anything.
