Cathy hadn't slept in over two days, save for a few stolen hours here and there. Waiting for news from Lindsey--not The News, just any news that he was okay--was physically painful, and it took every ounce of restraint within her to keep from trying to contact him. When it was the Higher Powers vs. one's boyfriend, a woman tended to stress, and in this case, it was throwing off her eating patterns as well. What little appetite the actress had didn't tend to strike until after midnight.
She knew that Lindsey was capable, and that what he had to do now was necessary. As she had told Faith, she believed in him--it was just a matter of playing the waiting game. At least, that's what she tried to convince herself even as her mind played over the thousand or so worst-case scenarios that ended with Lindsey hurt, alone, or worse...
Fortunately, another presence in the kitchen jolted her from such thoughts. In no time at all, she identified the shape as Mary Jane in the light from the refrigerator. "Hey," she offered softly, not wishing to startle the woman, who seemed to be deep in thought. "Mind if I join you?"
