Cathy wasted no time in putting together her bag, her packing method simple. She simply grabbed the first items she saw in her closet and drawers, forgoing folding them as they were tucked away, her bath items placed into Ziplock bags and placed on top. The activity was soothing, giving her something to focus on other than the taxing events of the day. Her energy level had slipped below zero far earlier, but her mind refused to slow down, going through every possible worst-case scenario in anticipation of the coming days.
There was the distinct slide of the deadbolt, and then the front door clicked open as Cathy appeared, an oversized duffel bag tossed over one shoulder and her purse on the other. "And Kristen's Glinda clearly has better comedic timing than Idina's Elphaba," she joked right back without missing a beat, a grin appearing in spite of herself.
"Sarah, thank you so much," she stated, tone sobering up as she flicked the light switch and stepped out of the apartment. "I'd hug you if I could, but I think it might disrupt the delicate balance of my luggage."
