He could hear it. It was loud and quick, yet not in a horrible way. Clark stared at her steadily for a moment, hoping that in some way he could help her calm a little. The blue that reflected from his eyes met her own, even as he said, "I want to do whatever makes you happy, Lois." It was the truth of it. Clark probably couldn't sleep more than an hour or so at this point. Not after he felt like he'd been away for so long. Being there for her? It was something that he knew he could manage.
He tilted his face against the palm of her hand when she touched his cheek and smiled off at her yet again. "Anything that makes you happy."
