She practically trembled at his touch, and the tears she shed now were no longer tears of sorrow. She turned her head, slowly, pressing a light kiss to his palm. She held her hand out to his then, wanting him to come inside.
As soon as he did, she threw her arms around him, burying her face in his broad shoulder. "Oh, God, Clark." she muttered, her words a bit muffled. "I... I thought I was going to die without you. I... I've been so, so lost without you..." More than just lost, really. She thought she'd never be found.
And right now, for once, this weird place felt like home, because she was a firm believer in the statement "home is where your heart is", and Clark was and always would be her heart.
