Who: Dora and ANYONE at the Weir! (Open to multiple threads)
What: Halloween celebrations and dealing with becoming one's costume!
When: Halloween night.
Where: the Weir
Status/Rating: OPEN/incomplete/PG-13?
Dora could smell pumpkin juice and some sort of cookies wafting from someone's kitchen and she decided to assume it was Lily Potter's. With a grin she continued down the hall with bouncing steps and pulled open the door to the apartment she shared with Remus. Humming to herself, Dora walked inside and headed straight for her son's nursery where she'd left him sleeping a good two hours ago and she wasn't surprised to see his eyes opening and closing ever so slightly with his tiny fist stuffed almost entirely into his mouth. She scooped him up and rested him against her shoulder, walking them both over to his changing table where she had diapers, wipes, and a Halloween costume that she at least found hilarious.
It didn't take her long to change Cian and slip him into the fury and footed onsie she'd found in a muggle drug store. Honestly, it had been the best discovery of her day. She'd always told herself that she'd not be one of those mothers who dressed their children up in horridly embarrassing things during the holidays (Christmas sweaters with snowmen, reindeer, and other such sundries were already banned), but since everyone else was doing it she figured there was no harm in getting in on the fun as well. With a happy grin she attached the plush wolf ears to his head and then stepped back to admire her work. Her kid was going to hate her when he was twenty, but at one month old he couldn't say a word and if she wanted to stick him in a tiny wolf suit with turquoise hair (albeit, the hair was his own fault) then that's what she was going to do.
"Okay, now you wait here a tick." Dora picked Cian up and set him quickly back down in crib before running off to the master bedroom. She had her own costume in there which she'd found fairly simple to transfigure once realizing that finding a Little Red Ridinghood costume in the muggle world that had a skirt of a normal length and wouldn't leave her half naked was going to be absolutely impossible. Apparently, Red Riding Hood had been co-opted into some sort of slut in Muggle popular culture. Dora had no idea when that had happened.
She had a nice and appropriate dress and bodice with puffy skirts and a white apron that went over it all. Her hair was easy enough to morph into long brown ringlets and peaked out nicely from underneath the red hood. She had to use her wand to tie everything up and then set about reinforcing the basket she'd brought with several spells and cushioning charms. She went about lining it with blankets and grabbed one of Cian's spare ones from their bed before going back to the crib.
The baby fit perfectly into the basket and looked even better once Dora tucked the blanket over around him. This would have perhaps been the perfect night to take him outside, but it still made her nervous, especially with Voldemort and Bella around. No, she was perfectly happy keeping him inside and spending time with their very large extended family.
Note scribbled for Remus, and basket tucked into the crook of her arm, she grabbed another basket, one she'd filled with little bundles of candy earlier. They were to be distributed at the doors of each apartment in the Weir. It wasn't very much, but if those feast like smells were any indication there would be much more later. The night was still young, after all, and they had plenty of time to stuff their faces. It was with a grin inspired by that thought that she stepped out of her apartment and headed off to start delivering.
