"Pretty much anything, yeah," Gabriel said as he smiled down at her, his heart clenching briefly in his chest. Out of the mouth of babes, as they say. He wasn't really sure exactly how to respond to what she had said, so he just smiled, squeezing her hand in return. "It's easiest with machines: appliances, electronics, wiring, that sort of thing, but... it works with people, too. Basically, I can see how they work."
It wasn't much, but she had looked curious. He might as well explain, or at least, attempt to.
They didn't go far, just across the room to the front desk. There was a bit of a mess underneath the back of it, a mesh of circuit boards and wires and various other bits of rather complicated looking electronic equipment, the things that Gabriel used to occupy his restless mind when he was on desk duty but didn't have anything else to do.
