Moving to an available chair near one of the desks, Cordelia eased herself into it and snorted. Giving him a humorless sort of smile, she answered, "I said for the first couple of months that it was a gift I wanted nothing more than to return. But it's a part of me, now."
Resting her head against the back of the chair, she closed her eyes for a second, only to peek them open and peer at him as he explained himself. With a shake of her head - and a slight grimace at the movement - Cordelia smiled faintly.
"I once got the unique pleasure of being the host of a higher being that wanted to brainwash the masses and eat people to sustain power," she commented almost in passing. Eyes re-closing, she added flippantly, "Of course, it sent me smack into a mystical coma and ultimately killed me. Believe me, this time around? I'm definitely a much more focused Seer than the last time."
At his offer of money, she shook her head. "No," she stated firmly, actually managing to sit up straight and turn her full attention to him. "No money. It's a hotel, yes, but it's not that kind of hotel. The people who stay here either need our help, or want to help others. We're a team. A pretty dysfunctional, not exactly quite a cohesive unit yet, sort of team, but we are a team. If you want in, you're in. Just... no attacking anyone else who lives here. We have a few strange ones but none of them are evil."
Another brief pause and then Cordelia added, "And our holy water shipment doesn't come in until the day after tomorrow. I think we still have a few jars, though, in the office, if you need some before you can get your own."
