Ahh, a girl ordered about by her father. Now, wasn't that the way things were supposed to be? Girls were meant to follow the direction of their parents, especially their fathers, but he supposed there came a point where even a father could cross that invisible line. Not that he'd ever seen evidence of it himself, but it wasn't unheard of. It happened more with the commoners, he noticed, than with the nobles. At least, if it happened with the nobles, no one ever mentioned it at court. But of course, one often refrained from talking about unpleasant things at court, for no one wanted to upset the king, for keeping the king in a good mood was for the best.
