He was pushed away. Sam looked away from her and did his best to hide the pained expression that was trying to break it's way across his face. "Because it's stupid. I want you here. You deserve to be alive, Jessica. I don't care about any of that relationship stuff when it comes to that. Nothing should be more important than that."
He didn't like seeing her this way. Sam would have been the first to throw punches at anyone who could make her upset like this and now he didn't know what to do now that he was the one responsible. He felt so wrong. In fact, Sam felt like a monster. And for the first time it wasn't because of the demon blood in him.
"I'm still here," he said desperately, "I'm right here. And I'm always going to be there for you. You do know that, right?"
