When everything had first started to change Jessica had been more than a little freaked out. She had taken refuge on the couch with a pillow to hug for at least an hour. It worked well enough with scary movies and she’d been hoping it would have the same effect with reality, turns out? Not so much.
Not to mention looking out of the window proved a difficult task what with the fog, smell and overall creepiness and in the end she really didn’t leave the couch much at all. She only left to use the computer and even then she took the pillow with her. Jessica felt like she was five years old again only without her parents there to comfort her. She had calmed down somewhat though after speaking about how freaked she was, reliving some old memories proved to be helpful and she even laughed at one point. God she missed Stanford. Jessica had been about to move back to the couch when the knock came at the door, being on edge didn’t help and she stood there holding her breath until Jo finally spoke.
Quickly, thankful for company, Jessica moved toward the door and unlocked it, opening it a touch with a small smile. “You must be Jo?”
