He didn't want to pull away. He just wanted to hold her for as long as possible. Hell, maybe even forever. But Ruby was quick to snap him back to reality, a place that Sam found he was quickly growing to hate. He held her for a moment longer, breathing in the familiar scent of her hair and the way that it felt to just be there with her, before he slowly pulled back. He kept his hands on her arms and his green eyes were a lot quicker to look at her right in the face as he took her in entirely for the first time since her approach.
His own face was damp from the tears that he'd shed in that single moment, but he ignored them and instead chose to reach over and wipe at her own.
"Answers. You want answers." He looked over at Ruby before he nodded slowly. "There's a lot to tell. But you did die. And now you're back. Because that's what happens here, in this city. People come back. Some...higher power or something brings them here. The dead. The living. Everyone."
