"Yeah, well, to be fair your Sam hasn't existed for years," Sam muttered, more to himself than anyone else. He looked directly at Jessica, his eyes reflecting that same look that he tended to use when he was honestly trying to convince someone of something. "I don't want to stab you, Jess," he told her honestly, "I just need to cut you. A small cut. Or...try to pull your ear off and that's usually my last choice because it's so disgusting."
That probably didn't make much sense to her. But what did in this city, at this point? Sam imagined that it wasn't a lot.
"It's me. You can trust me. A small cut and then this test thing is over, I swear. I'll answer any questions you have after that." He glanced over at Ruby. If Jessica kept pitching a fit over this, then she could have either been a shapeshifter trying to haul some ass or a pretty freaked out girl who wanted to...also haul some ass. Whatever the case, Ruby had to know that if she didn't plan on cooperating soon, that they'd have to act of their own accord and force her to do as much.
